-With this project, the “1 Iunie 2001” Association aimed at reducing discrimination against deaf people and their families. First of all they thought of the hearing and communication impaired young people, who were educated in the special education system, were marginalized and excluded from society because of the lack of information and communication in sign language. They got to work and researched the subject. They studied the Constitution, the law for disabled people and the audiovisual law. The information contained in these documents gave them the courage and the confidence to determine the institutions responsible with enforcing these laws to actually enforce them. They sent out letters, paid calls accompanied by hearing and communication impaired young people to the institutions responsible with reducing discrimination, held a press conference, wrote the president and achieved the following: “On TVR 1, the national TV station, the news programs are translated into sign language for all the deaf people in Romania, not only Buzau.”
