English description

The overall objective of this project was to promote and stimulate the responsibility and participation in the “Youth in Action” Program of young people belonging to underprivileged groups, such as ethnic or religious minorities, young people from rural areas, socially disadvantaged families or any other groups faced with prejudice, discrimination or social exclusion, such as young people with disabilities or LGBT. The project ran between January and December 2008 and had partners from Cyprus, Greece, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Italy, France, Poland, Latvia, Hungary, Germany and the European network “Human Rights Education Youth”.
After concluding the project, a platform was created to facilitate the exchange of experience, materials and resources belonging to youth organizations that are active in fields such as cultural diversity, human rights and active citizenship. At the same time, an exchange of experience and good practice between partner organizations was conducted, public consultations with young people were held and a survey on the low level of involvement in projects of young people from disadvantaged groups was carried out.
