Strategy for better regulation at the level of central public administration 2008-2013
Initiator: General Secretariat of the Government

The General Secretariat of the Government (GSG) conducted the project “Strategy for better regulation at the level of central public administration for 2008-2013” within a work group coordinated by GSG and the Department for European Affairs, which also included the Ministry for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises, Commerce, Tourism and Liberal Professions, The National Prognosis Commission and the Legislative Council. Within a week, two more consultation sessions were conducted with NGO and business representatives. At the same time, consultations were also initiated via the internet. Most of the suggestions that were submitted were included in the text of the Strategy. The Strategy was assessed at 18.5 billion EUR and funding was obtained through the Operational Program “Administrative Capacity Development”. A more clear-cut division of responsibilities within institutions and early involvement of other interested factors are key elements to be remembered in the future.
