Goal and objectives
The goal of the project is to increase institutions, NGOs and citizens' trust in involving the public in the making of public decisions. Our objectives within this project are:
-
creation and promotion of online instruments so that NGOs and public institutions include their public participation projects in an online database;
-
promotion of public participation concepts, identification and research for 30 success stories in the field of public participation developed by NGOs, public institutions or even citizen initiative groups;
-
promotion and awards for the 10 most successful stories of public participation within a public event;
-
promotion of success stories among public participation stakeholders and practitioners (NGO activists, civil servants and high officials, academics, etc.).
The Current Stage
CeRe organized consultations with NGOs and public institutions to find out what interests them in the public participation success stories. Based on the consultations, the online form for the two databases CeRe will maintain and coordinated was created.
CeRe improved its website and created the two electronic databases that will host the success stories: The Deposit of Advocacy Success Stories and The Deposit of Public Participation Success Stories.
