CeRe aimed at increasing the capacity of local NGOs to advocate for their causes. CeRe supported 10 local organizations with limited experience of advocacy, organizations that fight for causes that can be addressed and by an advocacy campaign. These organizations were assisted so that they put the necessary pressure on local government in an effort to fight for their causes and their beneficiaries and to form and strengthen their capacity to influence decisions taken by institutions.
Offering a combination of training, direct assistance and organizing, CeRe supported NGOs in causes such as: embellishing the community through proper maintenance of green space on public domain; setting up a day center for children, building a playground for children, prohibiting of traffic in downtown Bacau; transforming a garbage disposal area in a playground for Roma children.
Many of the campaigns conducted by the beneficiary NGOs won, but what is most important is that each of the 10 NGOs gained new abilities and skills and more power in their communities.
The project "Little Strokes Fell Great Oaks" was financed through the Phare program 2006/018-147.01.02/02 - Increasing the role of civil society in Romania's integration process.
