"Public consultation, information dissemination, permanent contact between opinion factors from the society, all have as goal rising the degree of expertise and, finally, a better decisional act for the citizen, and for whose good we should all work.
I take this opportunity to send my honest congratulations to the initiators of the project "See What You're Missing Out On!" and I assure them of my full support and openness for future projects for the citizen and the Romanian society."
Bogdan Olteanu
President of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies
"The research elaborated by the Resource Centre for public participation "Public Participation in Romania - Reality or Fairy-Tale?" is a very good and useful piece of work both for public administration and citizens in general and NGOs in particular, considering that public participation in our country is at an incipient stage and studies on the theme are scarce.
Participation is useful and represents an important sign of a functional democracy in a state. Indeed, we can affirm public participation is still emerging in Romania, but we hope soon we will reach the optimal level of participation, through a concerted effort from public authorities and citizens.
We consider the publication of this study a success in the field, and for the members of the team who realized the laborious research, very accurate and documented, we send them our honest congratulations."

"The Resource Center for public participation from Bucharest (CeRe) seeks the legal and pragmatic means so that we can be more active. It has also published recently the study "Is There Public Participation in Romania? Public participation between legislation and efficiency", the 2007 edition. It will be difficult to go through the different phases in order to comply with the requirements of the new 2007 - 2013 community program promoting active citizenship (www.ecas.org).
We have the solution and we have the obligation to cultivate the trust in democracy, the trust that solutions lie with us and not with the politicians. The trust in the small power of the vote and in a clearly articulated value system. We have reasons to believe that things can change, starting with the Constitution and ending with the paralysis of the teacher in Dersida. With the condition we inform ourselves, we consult and we actively take part in the public decision."
