The Resource Center for Public Participation – CeRe is searching for 8 volunteers for the community organizing project Back to Grassroots.
If you are studying political science, sociology, anthropology or psychology, but not necessarily! And you want to see for yourself what means public participation, civic spirit and citizen initiative, you are invited to join us, limited by your spear time, in the community organizing project that is ongoing in 6 of Bucharest neighborhoods.
What do you have to do?
As a volunteer, you will work with CeRe’s community facilitators in one of Bucharest neighborhoods in which the project takes place in order to create the bases of some local civic initiative groups.
Through the first stage (April - May), you will form team with one CeRe community facilitator and you will both take door-to-door interviews in one of the neighborhoods (usually after 17.00, but also on weekends), you will identify the communication problems and the citizens who are willing to get actively involved in order to solve the problems.
Dupa etapa de interviuri, ii veti incuraja pe cetateni sa se organizeze intr-un grup de initiativa si sa ceara autoritatilor solutionarea problemelor stringente ale cartierului.
After the interview stage, you will encourage the citizens to organize themselves in an initiative group and to ask the authorities to solve the stringent problems of the neighborhood.
For further details on the project and on what means community organizing, you are invited to visit the projects web site.
