Free training on "Community organizing" method

Friday, March 26, 2010

The Resource Center for Public Participation (CeRe) invites you to discover an innovative method of public participation for Romania – community organizing – within a free training which will take place Friday, April 16, 2010, in Bucharest.

This training is for the members and the volunteers of NGOs, for students and master degree students in sociology, political science, anthropology and for all those who are interested in new methods of public participation.

The training itself is being done by Chuck Hirt, CEO of the Community Organizing Center of Slovakia  and by Ed Shurna, CEO of  Chicago Coalition for the Homeless. All the discussions will take place in English, therefore a good understanding of this language is absolutely necessary.

Being given that the number of participants is limited, you are asked to apply using the form available on the site until the 7th of April 2010. The selection will be made based on the order of applying, by the interest showed and by the potential of using in a practical way the information available. The results of the selection will appear on the 9th of April.

The Resource Center for Public Participation will not cover the travel and accommodation expenses for the participants. The location of the training will be announced later.

The community organizing is a method used by CeRe during the project „Back to the grassroots”, project sustained financially by the Trust for Civil Society in Central and Eastern Europe.
