Little strokes fell great oaks

Aim
Increased capacity of local NGOs to advocate for their causes. CeRe  works  in this project with 10 local organizations with limited experience of advocacy organizations that fight for causes that can be addressed and by an advocacy campaign. These organizations are assisted so that they can provide the necessary pressure on local government in an effort to fight for their causes and their beneficiaries and to form and strengthen their capacity to influence decisions taken by institutions.

Activities

 

  • Selection of 10 NGOs which are beneficiaries of the project
  • Organizing a training on advocacy to be attended by 2 representatives of each selected organization.
  • Each organization will develop one plan for a local advocacy campaign
  • Selection of 7 organizations, of the 10 participating in the advocacy seminar, which will benefit from assistance in conducting local advocacy campaigns
  • Organizing a training for the NGOs participating in the project on volunteer management, community mobilizing and coalition building.
  • Organizing a training workshop for NGOs participating in the project on public relations and media relations.
  • 7 local advocacy campaigns. The 7 NGOs receive assistance and advice from CeRe on the planned advocacy campaigns
  • A seminar on "lessons learned". A one-day session in which the beneficiary organizations, along with members of their communities, may reflect on the experience of an advocacy campaign.
  • A collection of case studies. Creating and promoting a collection containing 5 case studies on Advocacy

    • Grupul informal A.B.C. Afumati - Afumati, Dolj
    • Asociatia „Iubim Natura" - Bacau, Bacau
    • RAIN CARE - Fundatia pentru Ingrijiri Integrate din Romania - Slatina, Olt
    • SM SPEROMAX Alba - Alba-Iulia, Alba
    • Asociatia de Sprijin a Copiilor Handicapati Fizic - Romania - ASCHF-R Bucuresti
    • Partida Romilor „Pro-Europa" - Sucursala Braila - Braila, Braila  
  • The 10 organizations involved in the project have worked and built 10 local advocacy campaigns. What will they solve? 
  1.  
    1. Asociatia pentru Initiative de Dezvoltare a Comunitaţilor din Oltenia de Nord (IDCON ) - Arcani, Gorj: Embelishing the community through proper maintenance of green space on public domain.
    2. Asociatia Hercules - Costesti, Arges: Taking over social services costs by local council by paying utilities and salaries for staff involved in working with children in the day center. 
    3. Asociatia Transfrontaliera Pro Dezvoltare - Sannicolau Mare, Timis developing ways fo youth to participate in reporting and solving problems in the community in Sannicolau Mare. 
    4. Asociatia Europeana pentru Apararea Drepturilor Omului (AEPADO) - Bucharest: Change "the regulatory framework" by Bucharest School Inspectorate in order to make mandatory, within the responsability of the high school leadership, to provide material resources to initiate and unfold of extracurricular activities to promote / sustain Youth from high schools in Bucharest. 
    5. Grupul informal A.B.C. Afumati - Afumati, Dolj: Creation of three playgrounds for children in each village of the commune. 
    6. Rain Care - Fundatia Pentru Ingrijiri Integrate din Romania - Slatina, Olt: Sustaining the activity of the Regional Center of Expertise in the field of palliative care (CREIP Center) after concluding the project Repacaro by obtaining financing for the operating expenses from the City Council of the City of Slatina 
    7. SM SPEROMAX ALBA - Alba Iulia, Alba: Fighting discrimination of people with special needs with little or no accessibility to public areas in Alba Iulia by developing a campaign for accessibility of public spaces. 
    8. Asociatia de Sprijn a Copiilor Handicapati Fizic - ROMÂNIA, Bucureşti: Increase the allowance for an adult person with the disability by amending Article 57 para. 4 of Law 448/2006 by approving the request for legislative changes. 
    9. Partida Romilor „Pro-Europa" - Sucursala Braila - Braila, Brăila: Building a playground for Roma children in the place of a garbage disposal area. 
    10. Asociatia „Iubim Natura" - Bacau, Bacau:  Prohibition of traffic in downtown Bacau (Marasesti street from the statue of Stephen the Great to the Health Insurance House)
