Goal
CeRe offered assistance to public institutions and community groups from two small cities in developing a public participation process and inclusive public policies mechanisms. The project aims at creating a dialogue between citizens and public institutions in 2 communities, Giurgiţa (Dolj county) and Amara (Ialomiţa county) and encourage them to develop and implement participative processes.
Results

2 decisions of the local public administration were made after consulting with the citizens;

an innovative public participation method was used for the first time in Romania: the first ctiziens' group was set up;

in Giurgiuta, a newsletter for the citizens was published for the first time in the community;

citizens from Amara and Giugiţa were informed with regards to the existing legislation on public participation and consultation and their associated rights;

organisations, community groups and public institutions from Amara and Giurgiţa improved their knowledge and abilities in processes of public participation;
-
250 NGOs and public institutions found out through presentations of case studies that public participation is also possible in small communities.
