Goal
The project "The Deputy from My City" aimed to strengthen the role of the local offices of Romanian deputies from 4 electoral constituencies (Arad, Constanta, Maramures and Neamt) by activating them as a first point of contact between deputies and local NGOs, organizing consultations with the NGOs within the legislative process and forwarding to deputies the positions adopted by the participating NGOs.
Results

training seminar for parliamentary offices of deputies elected in the 4 selected counties (Arad, Constanţa, Maramureş, Neamţ);

training seminar for the NGOs representatives coming from the 4 counties;

communication guide with the electors for the parliamentary offices;

communication guide with the local deputy offices for nongovernmental organisations;

organisation of public debates in the four counties;

writing the reports of the 4 public debates and communicating them to the deputies from the county and other public institutions concerned;

the representatives of the 13 participating parliamentary offices convinced themselves of the necessity to consult with the civil society within their activities;

the representatives of the parliamentary offices gained knowledge and made use of consultation methods and are now able to start working with local NGOs on actual subjects;

the representatives of the parliamentary offices taking part in the project could meet with a considerable number of representatives of the local civil society and representatives of other parliamentary offices and identify a set of good practices at this level;

representatives of 34 local NGOs involved in the project were introduced to working techniques with the parliamentary offices;
-
the local parliamentary offices and NGOs involved in the project established working relationships on the legal modifications proposed during the public debates.
